Celebrating 150 Years of Ministry in England.
Sisters in Canada celebrate ministry in England
Thirty School Sisters of Notre Dame who served in England gathered Aug. 8 in Waterdown, Ontario, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of SSND presence in England.
The sisters gathered for prayer and English tea. Sister Margarida Da Silva baked English scones. Sister Joan Helm bought homemade raspberry jam from a farmers' market and English cookies and toffees from a British store in Waterdown.
The participants celebrating the historic event included a sister who had served in England 27 years, as well as 100-year-old Sister Rose Sieben.
