International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
Sister Cathy Arata explains why SSNDs are committed to the eradication of poverty. She shared her reflections in 2012, but they are still just as relevant today.
The 2016 Commemoration of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP) will be held on Monday, Oct. 17, at United Nations Headquarters in New York, focusing on the theme "Moving from humiliation and exclusion to participation: Ending poverty in all its forms."
This is one of the international observances that the School Sisters of Notre Dame commemorate across the congregation and in solidarity with all peoples and nations of the world.
