International Women's Day
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, International Women's Day is a national holiday.
During the month of March, there are several opportunities to celebrate women and girls as well as to advocate for their unique needs. This year, a delegation from the School Sisters of Notre Dame, including students from SSND-sponsored high schools will be participating in a March in New York City.
International Women’s Day on March 8 will be observed with the theme, “Make it Happen.” On March 25, we celebrate the feast of the Annunciation. We look to Mary for inspiration and courage for women and girls throughout the world.
