International Day for the Eradication of Poverty
Sister Cathy Arata explains why SSNDs are committed to the eradication of poverty. She shared her reflections in 2012, but they are still just as relevant today.
The 2014 Commemoration of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (IDEP) will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at United Nations Headquarters in New York, focusing on the theme "Leave No One Behind: Think, Decide and Act Together Against Extreme Poverty."
This is one of the international observances that the School Sisters of Notre Dame commemorate across the congregation and in solidarity with all peoples and nations of the world.
