Pat Seurkamp

In honor of her 15 years of unwavering dedication to Notre Dame's Catholic values and educational mission, SSND-sponsored Notre Dame of Maryland University will celebrate President Mary Pat Seurkamp with a Blue and White Ball. The black tie affair will be held on Saturday, March 31 at 7 pm at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel.

The Blue and White Ball honors Dr. Seurkamp's remarkable legacy of innovation at Notre Dame. President Seurkamp plans to retire at the end of the academic year. Since her inauguration in 1997, she has led the University through an unprecedented era of progress and growth. Proceeds from the gala will benefit the Seurkamp Fund for Academic Excellence, the first endowed scholarship fund of the University era at Notre Dame.

Dr. Seurkamp's accomplishments include:

• Expanding academic programs to meet the needs of nontraditional students through the College of Adult Undergraduate Studies;

• Establishing Notre Dame as a leader in health care education, with the launch of the School of Pharmacy and expansion of nursing programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels;

• Realigning of academic programs into the School of Arts and Sciences, School of Education and School of Nursing;

• Founding the Ph.D. in education, the first doctoral program to be offered at the University;

• Overseeing $120 million in much-needed capital projects involving the construction, expansion and renovation of residential and academic facilities; and

• Leading Notre Dame through the historic decision to become Notre Dame of Maryland University on September 9, 2011.

The evening will feature dinner and dancing to the music of the Michael Carney Orchestra. Tickets are available for $250.

Special room rates must be made no later than February 28 by calling 800-266-9432. Registration must be completed and mailed for receipt by March 12. Download the PDF registration form above.
