How We Serve
Educators in all we doThe original mission of the School Sisters of Notre Dame was to educate those who did not have the opportunity for formal schooling or for education that would enable them to better their lives. In 1833 Bavaria, this meant educating German girls who were being excluded from the learning process. |
In SchoolsToday, sisters teach in early childhood education centers, schools for special needs students and at elementary, middle, and high schools as well as colleges and universities. They are skilled educators who also provide a sense of Catholic values to their students to help them develop their character as well as their intellect. |
In CommunitiesThe SSND ministry of education has expanded through advocacy and service to those in need within parishes and diocesan offices, at literacy and adult education programs, hospitals, prisons and detention centers, crisis shelters, nursing homes and social service centers. |
